28February About John
Written by John

With 20 years of throwing stoneware pottery, John Wilson’s artwork is breathtakingly beautiful.  Rich colors blend into ageless patterns and warm earth tones meet dark contrasts — all captured in masterfully shaped and glazed works of art.

Born in Fredonia KS., John received his BFA from Emporia State University in ceramics. He taught high school for 17 years, then, in 2008 he made the decision to pursue pottery full time.

Today, he has two studios and teaches pottery to children and adults of all ages. He shows his work in many arts festivals in the Philadelphia area. He is a member of the Potter's Guild of the Community Arts Center in Wallingford. He shows his work at their Spring and Christmas holiday shows. He is in his 4th year at the Manayunk Arts Festival that happens on the third weekend of June. He is also a member of the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen.
